Why Get This Book
A young girl named Rebecca lives in Nazareth. She follows a little donkey searching for its mother all the way to a stable in Bethlehem, and there they both see something very special. Brian Wildsmith tells the Christmas story through a child's eyes, which makes it easy for little ones to picture. It's a sweet Advent read-aloud for preschool and early grade school. Honest note: it adds a made-up girl and donkey to the Bible story, so read Luke 2 alongside it to show what really happened. Next step: read Luke 2:15 together and go see the manger in your own nativity set.
