Why get this book

Revelation can feel confusing or even scary. George Eldon Ladd treats it as true prophecy: written for the church in its own day, and also about what the church will face when God's plan of redemption is complete. His widely praised commentary walks you through the whole book with care and clarity. It's for the Bible student who wants to understand without wild speculation. Honest note: it's a scholarly commentary and reflects Ladd's own view of the end times, which some traditions read differently. Next step: read Revelation 1:3 and take comfort that Jesus holds the future.
