Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026. GospelShelf is based in Omaha, Nebraska. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect and how we use it. Questions: [email protected].
The short version
- No accounts, no logins.
- If you subscribe, our email provider Beehiiv keeps your first name, last name, email, and any callings you choose. That's all.
- We never sell or rent your personal information.
- Unsubscribe anytime with one click. Ask us to delete your data anytime.
What we collect
- Newsletter signup: first name, last name and email address, collected through a signup form provided by our email provider, Beehiiv (beehiiv.com), which stores them and sends our emails. You may also tell us your callings (for example Husband, Parent, Worker) in your first email so we can personalize the devotional. We use this information only to send and personalize the devotional emails.
- Analytics: we use privacy-friendly analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views. It does not use advertising cookies or track you across other websites. Beehiiv's signup form and attribution script record how you found the signup (for example, which page), and Beehiiv may use standard open and click measurement in emails. Retailer sites you visit through our links (such as Amazon) set their own cookies, including affiliate cookies, under their own policies.
- On your device only: text size, your place in the Bible reader, your callings for the Callings devotion and similar settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to us.
How we use it
To send the emails you asked for, personalize them to your callings, and understand which pages are helpful. We do not use your information for any other purpose, and we do not sell, rent or trade it.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run the site and send email: Beehiiv (our email provider, which hosts the signup form and our subscriber list; see Beehiiv's own privacy policy) and our web host, who may process it only on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Unsubscribe, changes and deletion
Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link and a “Manage my preferences” link. To have your data deleted, or to see what we hold, email [email protected] and we'll do it promptly.
Email rules (CAN-SPAM)
Our emails identify GospelShelf as the sender, use honest subject lines, include our physical mailing address, and include a working unsubscribe link. We honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.
Children's privacy (COPPA)
The newsletter is for adults 18 and older. Our kids' and teen content is written for parents and caregivers to use with children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security and retention
We keep subscriber information only as long as you're subscribed, or until you ask us to delete it, and we use reputable providers with standard security.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell subscribers by email.
